Ana María Martínez stars in Ópera de Puerto Rico’s production of Madama Butterfly

Ana María Martínez, known for her poignant portrayal of Puccini’s teenage princess, joins Ópera de Puerto Rico for two performances of Madama Butterfly. The Grammy-winning soprano has performed Cio-Cio-San to great acclaim, Houston Press remarking that she “sounds fresh and ethereal as her silken voice sails over the orchestra.”

Ana María stars alongside Rafael Dávila and Antonio Barasorda in Madama Butterfly on October 22 and 24 at the Centro de Bellas Artes in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In spring of 2016, Ana María reprises the role of Cio-Cio-San in Lee Blakeley’s production with LA Opera.
