2015 highlights include Puccini in Texas; Donizetti in Glyndebourne
After celebrating a successful 2014, which included a performance of Rusalka at Lyric Opera of Chicago deemed one of the best classical music events of the year by the Chicago Sun-Times, Ana María Martínez looks forward to a 2015 with highlights set to include new roles and old favorites.
On January 23, the Puerto Rican soprano returns to Houston Grand Opera’s production of Madama Butterfly in the title role, starring under the baton of Giancarlo Guerrero through February 8. Puccini and Texas remain a theme for Ana María when she joins the Dallas Opera for La Bohème in March, singing Mimì under the baton of Riccardo Frizza. Ana María’s next opera appearance takes place in the summer when she makes her role debut as Paolina in Donizetti’s Poliuto at Glyndebourne, May 21 through July 15.
In between, Ana María can be heard in three concerts with Andrea Bocelli at the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida.
