In February, Ana María Martínez returns to LA Opera as the Countess in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro.

Following her company debut as Mimì in La bohème, she has subsequently appeared with LA Opera as Violetta in La Traviata (2001); Amelia in Simon Boccanegra (2012); Nedda in Pagliacci (2015); Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly (2016); the title role of Carmen (2017); Elisabetta in Don Carlo (2018), and Soleá in El Gato Montés (2018).

This dazzling new production will be directed by James Gray, with scenery designed by Santo Loquasto, lighting by York Kennedy, and costumes by the famed fashion designer Christian Lacroix. The stellar cast will also include Craig Colclough as Figaro, Janai Brugger as Susanna, Lucas Meachem as the Count, Rihab Chaieb as Cherubino, Kristinn Sigmundsson as Bartolo, Marie McLaughlin as Marcellina, Rodell Aure Rosel as Don Basilio, Anthony León as Don Curzio, Deepa Johnny as Barbarina, and Alan Williams as Antonio. Maestro James Conlon will lead from the podium.

Performances are scheduled for February 4, 11, 16, 19, 23 and 26.
